FEBRUARY 06TH, 2017

It's been three years since I made a collection of kissing animals to put online. I was on bed rest with my youngest child and my mind was a constant wonder. I've started gathering ideas to create another collection or set of 12 images to add, but then I see something in my surroundings that postpones me from working on personal projects. I have three very strong-willed children. My hair officially started turning gray in 2016 - Ages: 5, 3, 2.

Examples of what big messes of 2016:

  • My daughter got a new loft bed to make more room in her bedroom. While putting the bed together, it only took three minutes for "Pooh" to start a snowstorm with Styrofoam in the living room.
  • The boys dumped a whole mega bag of Cheerios in the living room. Vacuuming up Cheerios is the adult equivalent to Hungry Hungry Hippo.
  • My youngest wanted to make a peanut butter sandwich while I was in the restroom. I came out to find the kitchen floor mopped with peanut butter. We didn't get that smell out for a good two weeks.
  • I had some powdered cement in the laundry room to mix with black paint to paint the chalkboard on a section in the laundry room and hallway. Two accidents happened. First, my two boys dropped the black gallon of paint to bust partially open and proceeded to paint part of the couch. Yes, actual hand prints (See photo to the right) Second, boys climbed up and took the powdered cement... I was in the restroom (again)... When I came out the whole laundry room was COVERED. A new rule was put into effect that clean laundry is not to be left in the laundry room after that.

I am not complaining. My life is a roller coaster and there is NEVER a dull moment. I know later in life my husband and I will laugh about these messes. Truthfully, I did hide in the closet and cry, but I also read the bible for help. I don't know about you, but I need Jesus every day.  For now, I can dream of a more organized and protected home from these creative children. If you have any other couch-cleaning remedies I am open for suggestions. I've tried everything except bleach, but don't have much hope for this couch to last much longer.

Enjoy the little moments, they slip away too fast.

Enjoy!
